Netflix has announced a “makeover” of its selection of user profile icons. The company is refreshing the current icons and adding dozens of new options including characters from its own original shows like Stranger Things, Orange is the New Black, Queer Eye, and more.
Not only are the classic icons being updated, you’ll now be able to choose a character from a popular Netflix original series. When first introduced, the profile icons you could choose from weren’t anything spectacular. In fact, they were quite bland as you can see in the image below.
Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t entirely abandoned its old icons, which were never really all that fun. If you still want to be a masked superhero lady or a frowning guy with glasses, have at it. These have just been updated with a little more color.
Many people have started to notice that Netflix has taken their logo from a simple “Netflix” company title on top of a red background to a simple “N” on a red background. Some people like it, many don’t. They did this because they know that the future of on-demand programming is primarily through mobile.
