Different As a general rule of thumb (for standard 16:9 displays): 1080p up to 24", 1440p up to 30", and 4k from 30 inches and up will give a good balance between pixels per inch to deliver a good viewing experience. There are 4 mainstream different types of display panel: IPS, VA, and TN and OLED, with some minor variants.

Memory When first installed, the memory will likely default to 2133 with timings specified by JEDEC. This is to ensure that it would work regardless of what system you put the memory in. Then you can apply DOCP or XMP profiles to run the memory at higher speeds. 2666 is probably just what the CPU is officially guaranteed to work with, it may handle 3200 just fine.
2666mhz So, 2666mhz is the default JEDEC speed for that platform with those components. Enabling XMP on 2666mhz sticks, with that configuration, is probably not going to change much of anything because the

Memory Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) was originally created by Intel® and is now used by all memory manufacturers with high performance desktop memory. Unlike JEDEC, XMP speeds are higher performing, and are usually custom tweaked to the specific needs of the memory. When you purchase XMP compatible memory, you must also pair it with an XMP compatible

Switching Switching back to the default (JEDEC) profile allows the machine to boot fine and is usable but can only run with the 2666MHz speed. Bad on the manufacturer to claim compatibility without actually testing first.

Fine Pretty much had no luck booting on the RAM past the JEDEC 2400 default profile. I had success using a cheaper pair DDR4-3000 on board with the XMP profile worked fine, but it seems must past 3200

Kingston 2 things here. XMP is not available on any Legion laptops at the moment. Second, you need to pick a ram that will run at 3200 speeds natively through its JEDEC default profile. Most are choosing Kingston Fury Impact, or Kingston HyperX Impact if …
I looked at all of them and wrote them down. They are the same in both cases: Default (JEDEC) and XMP Profile 1. Then it is because the JEDEC standard allows for the same configuration based on Z390 default support as what your sticks are anyhow.

If you had much higher speed memory, then you would see a significant difference as the default 2133-2666mhz + timings would be significantly different than for the XMP 3000mhz + profile. What is your CPU and motherboard model? Click to expand... So, 2666mhz is the default JEDEC speed for that platform with those components.
When you install memory in a system, there is a set of standardized speeds/timings your memory will run at. This standard is called JEDEC. This is why you see DDR4 memory speeds like DDR4-2133, DDR4-2400, DDR4-2666, DDR4-3000. These are standardized speeds that all memory manufacturers adhere to.
