GEHA is a great choice for current and retired federal employees. The insurance carrier's focus on affordability and quality make its health insurance plans competitive. It offers three health plan options and Medicare supplement insurance. GEHA is very forthcoming about rates and coverage on its website.
Why you might like Standard Option:
When you use a PPO provider that is outside your home network (in a GEHA network listed above but not printed on your GEHA ID card), GEHA will pay a PPO benefit based on a contracted rate, negotiated amount or a billed charge. You are still only responsible for the deductible, copayment and coinsurance for covered charges.
The higher your deductible, the lower your premium. It’s a good idea to set your deductibles as high as possible if you have the money in an emergency fund to cover them.
